Changing faces and smelly places
Long time back, people used depend on bullock carts for transportation. It’s changed today. Instead of bullock carts, we have 2 wheelers, car, bus, train, plane etc. A person who doesn’t own any of the above or at least a bicycle is rare. Villages and cities all have highways now. Villages seem to have more concrete buildings. The narrow zigzag roads in villages are all made beautiful. On either side we can see paddy fields converted to residential areas. Villages filled with coconut trees have all disappeared. Streetlights may be glowing but not with enough light. Still the roads are conveyable.
The changes that happened in cities are not ignorable. Cities are face lifted with huge shopping malls and other buildings. Although there is big development, we can still see the garbage from plastic wastes, rotten vegetables & fruits and other eatables at every nook and corner. How ever handsome a person may be, but a pimple or black spot may make him ugly. Just like that, our city may be beautiful, but with unkept surroundings it may look ugly.
Things that we use daily like toothpaste, detergent, talcum powder, plastic wastes, unused eatables, rotten vegetables, fruits, meat, egg etc will decompose in surroundings and will emit bad odor making the city life a hell. The real culprits for this pathetic state are we ourselves. The things that throw away can become breeding places for flies and mosquitoes and it can create a lot of problems for other fellow beings.
Villages are no different. The throw away things can cause big social issues like fatal diseases (Chicungunya, dengue etc) which can destroy a society or even the country. As far as possible, we should try not to throw away the waste. We should dispose them by burning or burying it in some uninhabited place.
The society and ourselves will be healthy only if we keep our surrounding neat and tidy. Then there wont be any contagious diseases. The country will progress only if we keep our surroundings clean. We can live longer also. Foreign tourists will visit our place only if it is kept neat and tidy.
“Even if our faces looks ugly our surroundings should not look ugly”
